Whirligig Hosta – The unique foliage is sometimes described as being the same as ‘Whirlwind’, but it isn’t. It does have upright, twisted and pointed leaves, but the longer petioles give it more height; there is a greater amount of twisting to the foliage. It’s kinda like saying ‘Antioch’ and ‘Francee’ are alike because they are both green with a creamy white edge. Not! A nice photo of this is in The Hosta Journal, Vol. 27 No. 1.
Medium: Semi-upright, medium-sized mound, 16″ high x 30″ wide ; leaf center changes color during the growing season from creamy white to chartreuse to medium green; dark green margin; leaves 6 1/2″ long x 4 1/2″ wide (7 vp); leaves also ovate-shaped, slightly cupped, moderately way.
