Yoshie Hosta – Another rare Herb Benedict masterpiece, this one is named for Yoshimichi
Hirose, we think, who has written several books on variegated plants. From one of the owner of the largest Benedict collection in the East we have this…”yingerii-like and semi upright growth habit in this small to medium plant. It has medium green shiny and somewhat thick leaves that are ovate and lanceolate.” Went for over $500 the last time it was entered into a national auction.
Medium: 20″ high by 46″ wide mound of moderately rippled, shiny, dark green foliage; leaves 11″ long by 6 1/4″ wide (10 vp); leaf blade also narrowly ovate-shaped with a long, thin tip, and smooth-textured; good substance.
